LOUISE CRAWFORD
Born in Sacramento, Louise Crawford has so far written only ebooks. But she has a future. After writing many different kinds of novels, and thanks to her background in psychology (she has a masters), Crawford moved to the mystery genre and her first ebook, Blaize of Glory featuring the Blaize McCue-Stephanos Zoloski duo, was met with very positive reviews. However her next two mysteries, Hat Trick - second in the McCue-Zoloski series - and Voodoo, Whipped Cream and Billy the Kid have been particularly successful with the former winning the Eppie Award for best mystery ebook published in 1999 and latter being nominated. She is currently working on the paperback versions of her ebooks. Crawford, member of both the Romance Writers as well as Mystery Writers of America, lives in Sacramento with her husband and daughter.

Hat Trick

Psychologist Blaize McCue and boyfriend Detective Stephanos Zoloski go for a 5 am jog and stumble over a toothless, handless, corpse. "Look Ma no hands," takes on a whole new meaning, especially when the body is identified by her good friend, Lon, as his missing lover, Ken Woods. When the corpse's hands and teeth turn up in Lon's gym locker, Lon becomes the prime suspect of both the FBI and Zoloski. Warned by Zoloski to stay out of the case, Blaize can't help diving in when Lon begs for help. With a compulsive-obsessive's need to finish what she starts, Blaize can't quit. Not even getting whacked on the head, or Zoloski's threats to end their relationship keep Blaize from plowing forward, loyal to the end. As she delves deeper, she discovers FBI, Treasury, and DEA agents littering the sidewalk like worms after a rainstorm - and they're not sharing secrets with each other - or her. Following a trail as twisted as San Francisco's Lombard Street, Blaize discovers a world of cross-dressing men, Middle-Eastern macho, illegal drugs, and money laundering. In a race against the clock, it'll take a Hat Trick to save Lon, her relationship with Zoloski, and in the end, herself.

Art Murray/William Kidman Series

Voodoo, Whipped Cream, and Billy the Kid (Review)

Beverly Hills detective, Art Murry has seen it all - or so he thinks. Then he's handed the case of Julia Garoute, victim of voodoo. It's not enough that he's breaking in a new partner, Detective William Kidman - aka "Billy the Kid" - a gum-chewing, eager-to-please young pup. Murry now has a headless corpse which leads him into the murky world of a secret voodoo society where potions and powders and black magic make him question his own sanity. Voodoo in Beverly Hills? Who would have expected it? It's a helluva time to finally notice Medical Examiner (ME) Mary Eclair's soft, sultry voice. Matters are complicated enough as Murry and Billy are drawn into an investigation involving transplanted Haitians, Los Angeles elite, and the shocking reality of Zombification.
