BARBARA NADEL

Born in the East End of London, Barbara Nadel before becoming a writer firstly trained as an actress, but now works as a mental health advocate for the mentally disordered in a psychiatric hospital. In the past she also worked with sexually abused teenagers and taught psychology in schools and colleges. Nadel is a regular visitor to Turkey, where she has some relations, thus the explanation for the creation of the series featuring Inspector Cetin Ikmen. Her first book, Belshazaar's Daughter (1999) was considered by many as one of the best reads of the year.
