KATE CHARLES
(pseudonym of Carol Chase)

Despite the fact that she was born in Cincinnati and has an MA from Indiana University, Carol Chase (a.k.a. Kate Charles) has a considerable knowledge of both British society and the Church of England, due also to her experience in church administration. Thus the creation of her David Middleton-Brown and Lucy Kingsley series set in the English religious environment. Chase has recently acquired a UK passport. A consolation following the decision by her American publishers not to issue a paperback volume because considered too British for US readers.

A series of terrifying phone calls is attacking the sanity of the rector's young bride. A nosy biddy is stirring up trouble. A new churchwarden has been elected without the rector's consent. And the gruesome murder of one of the town's most familiar faces has the church's priest looking for help from above.
